Originally came here as kind of a joke, the idea being that gas station Taiwanese food, it can either be really bad or the best thing we've ever had. I'm happy to report that it was the latter. The interior is split in half, one half gas station, the other half are some small tables and a few chairs. There is a small desk to order from, with menus, and some pictures of the food. The food itself was great. Really strong authentic flavors and super warm food, as everything is made as you order it. Hard to explain well but it gives off the vibes of a street-side store in Taiwan. Really great experience here, give it a try next time you're filling up on gas here.

Came with a large group of people and was pleasantly surprised by the service and food. There is a cash only discount for a free can of soda for spending $30+, and other freebies for other amounts. You can order in person or at the digital kiosk. The paper menus might not have everything (didn't see the night market chicken or steak on the paper menus) so it doesn't hurt to ask and check. The beef noodle soup had tender beef and well cooked noodles. The broth was missing... something, but it was all consumed. The toppings included some small pickled greens, scallions, cilantro, and some baby bok choy. The popcorn chicken was the favorite, good amount of seasoning and fried basil. Lots of crunch on the outside and juicy tender meat inside. The eel bento came with sides that were not pictured. There was crumbled pork on the rice with Taiwanese sausage. If you don't eat pork, you don't seem to have a lot of options. I wish we had asked what the sides would be since in the sides was an ingredient the person eating was mildly allergic to. Overall, large portions. Would come for the Taiwanese chicken.

(Review based on one visit). Taiwanese food in a gas station sounded very promising when we were looking for something on. Sunday afternoon. Amore Eats is no-frills and presented us with richly flavored Taiwanese food. We had sticky rice with shrimp topped with very fresh cilantro and the bento box with pork cutlet fried perfectly. Bento box had important garnishes including pickled cucumber and site fried cabbage. Tomatoes were a delight. And chicken was served cut in tiny cubes over white short grain rice. Very good food. We will be back!

Best find in Rockville ever. Authentic Taiwanese food, with an extensive menu and a no-frills, no-nonsense interior. Have come by several times - both dive-in and take-out do not disappoint!

What a time to be alive... Back in my day, if I got lunch at gas station... it's usually an egg sandwich and I'd end up coming close to death... and since I survived the 90s and other questionable choices... here I am trying a Taiwanese restaurant and I gotta say... it is awesome. If I was still in the dating scene, I'd take whoever I was courting here cause where else can I get some awesome bao, fill up on gas... and then buy a pack of condoms. I'm pretty sure it'll be romantic... maybe... I don't know... I haven't been on the market since 2003... so I either know all there is about keeping a woman OR my wife has mad a horrible choice and slowly realizing her error. But I digress... Food here is awesome. My family didn't like the Chinese sausage and sticky rice but fuck them... it was awesome. The Chinese sausage tasted kind of like a longanesa had a baby with yan-yan Chinese sausage... so it appealed to my Filipino side. Everyone like the popcorn chicken so not much to say about that. The ground pork and rice was good but wished there was a bit more meat. The tawainese meatball is huge... and the bao and pork belly was probably the weakest in my opinion but still enjoyable. So if you ever had any reservation about getting food at a gas station... don't worry and definitely don't sleep on this. It's awesome... awesome to the max....

This is a spot inside of a gas station convenience store. They serve very authentic Taiwanese eats. Open kitchen, clean tables seat about 16 ppl. Offers free water as Chinese places usually do. Ordered intestine vermicelli, meat ball and sticky rice (of course all Taiwanese style). The vermicelli is very good but very large so I have to wait until later to try the other dishes. Already a retuning customer. Definitely recommended!

Don't underestimate this Taiwanese restaurant inside an Exxon gas station. With cheap coffee on the counter, a few no frills tables inside, the staff know what they are doing. The menu is filled with authentic food from those found in night markets in Taiwan to bento boxes. Stopping inside on a Saturday evening around 6 p.m., there was a healthy flow of customers. Order on a screen by the register and your food can be packaged for takeout or you can stay there and make use of the many sauces on the counter. Making a rookie mistake, my wife, seven-year-old daughter, and I each order our own entree. The portions are so big that we could have gotten two and be content. Everything we got was excellent and fresh. The fried rice with chicken was a favorite. The pork dumplings with a garlic sauce and the Taiwan noodles were a hit too. So good! They sell drinks, but they also have cups for free water and ice.

Who knew that a small restaurant inside a gas station convenience store would fill the large, Taiwan-shaped hole in my heart? They serve the best Taiwanese food in the area, second to none. I was able to easily find parking at the gas station and walked inside the store, where there is one large table and some countertop seating. I felt immediate nostalgia when the person who took my order spoke both Mandarin and Taiwanese. The two of us got the braised pork belly rice (niu rou fan) and their stewed pork rice bento box, which ended up being $20 for everything. This is INCREDIBLY well-priced, especially for the area, and the food came out super quickly. Everything also tasted like an amazing warm authentic home-cooked meal! The pork belly slices were so tender and melted in my mouth, and the tofu in the bento box was juicy after being marinated in the most amazing sauce. I can't wait to come back and try everything on their menu.

Rockville has so much great food, even its gas stations are culinary destinations. Amore Eats is located in an Exxon gas station near the intersection of Rockville Pike and Rollins Ave, and they pump out (sorry) some great Taiwanese food. The amount of things offered here can be overwhelming, with four main sections designated by letter - section A (appetizer-y things), section B (bento boxes), and T and S (no idea). I grabbed my usual order (Too Much) recently, and here goes: (A14) Taiwanese sausages in sticky rice - an absolute mess to eat (though that's most things, given my level of coordination), like a hot dog with a bun made of glutenous sticky rice and herbs, drizzled with a sweet sauce that has the consistency and hand-stick-to-ive-ness of honey. The blend of flavors was distinctive, nice blend of sweet and mild spices. Good, worth a try. (A13) Taiwanese meatballs - a house specialty, made with ground pork, bamboo, and mushrooms in a sticky dough made of rice and doused in a sweet chili tomato sauce. Just cutting into this is a fun experience - the rice dough holds together incredibly well and holds a whole bunch of deliciousness inside. Really good, and not something I've seen on other menus. (B4) Popcorn chicken bento box - the box is fun and a good way to try several flavors (pickled radish, braised pork, two additional vegetable sides, some sweet Taiwanese sausage), but the chicken itself was only okay. Then again, I'm partial to Jumbo Jumbo's version slightly father down 355, so I'm biased here. (T5) leek dumplings - very nice size and amount, perfect for sharing. The wrappers are well steamed and hold up without being either too thick or glue-y, well seasoned interiors, very flavorful and would get again. Plenty more to come back and try, and I'm excited to do just that! (And not only because I think waaaay too much about food.)
